You are traveling all the time.

by Pritam Pal Singh, Mexico

I arrived to the Amsterdam Ashram 23 years ago.
I knocked at the door because a friend of mine was living there. I knew at that moment that I needed something. What do you do here I said. She responded: well, we get up at 4 a.m., we wear turbans and we wear bana.

The next morning, I put my long hair up and I asked somebody for a turban and went to Sadhana. My life changed totally from one day to the next, over night I became a Sikh, but I had doubts. During the next seven years I was plagued with doubts. My soul, however, knew that this was my path in life. I can not explain it rationally. Three months after I arrived I met the Siri Singh Sahib, and immediately I asked for my spiritual name.

At that time I was so spaced out. I worked in the Golden Temple Restaurant, it took me 5 minutes to cut a tomato. but through the miracle of Guru Ram Das and Kundalini Yoga, 3 months later I was managing the Restaurant. There is nothing like Kundalini Yoga. Since that time my connection to the Guru has never failed. He has given me a solid base, inspiration and elevation and whenever I go to the Guru I continue receive that same inspiration and elevation.

The Siri Singh Sabhib was also always there for me. When I had difficult moments he was there, when there was nothing in my life he was there, and still after seven years I had doubts in my mind. So I called him and I said, “Am I your student?” After 7 years of living this lifestyle………..then he started laughing and he laughed and laughed. He did not stop laughing and with that laughter I understood, that this was my path. I did not ask him again, but I tried other paths and other teachings, and each time I rediscovered that our teachings are the deepest, the most fulfilling and the most effective. Everything has been integrated into our path and this Dharmic path has made me a totally new person.

Siri Singh Sahib has changed my life totally. I couldn’t imagine my life right now without the teachings. I see how our community has grown and that’s wonderful. I have been a Sikh for twenty three years now. The Guru and the Siri Singh Sahib are always with me.
